Hello again! Today’s book review is going to be on the Mark of Athena…..
THE MARK OF ATHENA
As we all know from the previous books, Hera or Juno (both are annoying so take your pick), had taken Percy Jackson, a Greek demigod to a Roman camp called Camp Jupiter and Jason Grace, a Roman demigod was taken to a Greek camp called Camp Half-Blood. Now Greeks and Romans have rivalry since the olden times but the second great prophecy required both Greeks and Romans to unite. The prophecy goes like this:
Seven half-bloods shall answer the call,
to storm or fire the world must fall,
an oath to keep with a final breath,
and foes bear arms to Doors of Death.
In this book all the seven half-bloods of the prophecy shall reunite in New Rome. But the eidolons (the ghost from the Underworld) have taken over three bodies; Percy, Jason and Leo. Now Leo has blown up New Rome, but it was not really Leo. It was the eidolon. But the seven half-bloods don’t know that yet. They know that when Percy and Jason’s start fighting with each other in Kansas, a trap by Gaia, the Earth goddess and Gaia is no softie. She gave her own child, Titan Kronos a scythe to cut his father Ouranos in several pieces. While Percy, Jason, Leo, Piper, Hazel and Frank set off to find Nico Di Angelo, who had been captured by the twin giants Otis and Epheliates, Annabeth, the daughter of Athena is off on a quest to retrieve the Athena Parthenos, a giant statue of Athena that can stop the rivalry between Roman and Greek and both of them together can fight to defeat Gaia. But now when Annabeth retrieved the Athena Parthenos, there is another problem at hand Annabeth had made the mother of spiders, Arachne, weave into her own trap and make her fall into Tartarus, But when the seven demigods went to rescue her, she and Percy fell into Tartarus as well. But Percy thought that this was meant to happen because the Doors of Death have to be closed in both sides, Tartarus and the mortal side in the House of Hades in Epirus…..
